Introduction: Diffuse lipomatos is fat tissue mass located in subcutaneous or deep tissue which doesn’t contain a capsule. Histopathological examination is characterized by the accumulation of normal fat tissue in various parts of the body . It maybe clinically asymptomatic or may be manifested by pressing organs.
Case: 2 -year-old boy was admitted to our hospital with swelling in the left groin . In physical examination, a painless mass sized about 3x4 cm showing the true extent of the left inguinal region to the scrotum showing mobilization was palpated under the skin . The ultrasound showed a mass sized 90x42mm formed by fatty tissue in left inguinal region showing the bladder adjacent . Computer tomography of the lower left quadrant fat density mass confined to the inguinal region suspected of lipoblastom ?, lipoma ?, a mass formed by fat?. Exploration showed that the mass lies on periton seen out in the abdomen throuh the femoral canal. During dissection ,the mass was on lateral of the femoral vein and was seen sitting on the femoral artery . Frozen biopsy was evaluated as lipoma. Due to the absence of the capsule mass removed as small pieces. The definite pathological diagnosis came as lipomatosis.
Discussion: In the literature, thoracic and abdominal organs, subcutaneous , head ,scattered in the neck were and has been shown in numerous studies lipomatosus scattered in the femoral canal as the first case of this phenomenon. In addition to differential diagnosis of mass in the femoral canal residential hernia , abscesses, cysts , cystic lymphangioma ,inclusion cysts, lipoblastom , liposarcoma, lipomatosus should be considered as a possible pathology.
