Functional and Cosmetic Results of Limberg Flap Method in Pilonidal Sinus Surgery in Children

Pilonidal sinus is a chronic disease of the gluteal region. In this study, the functional and cosmetic results of the cases that were performed with Limberg Flap method in our clinic were retrospectively examined. Between June 2013 and June 2017, 36 patients who were diagnosed with a Pilonidal sinus diagnosis were included in the study. Patients' age, gender, operative findings, postoperative complications, incisional complaints in the gluteal region, recurrence status and operative satisfaction were recorded. Twenty-four of the patients were female and 12 were female. The mean age was 14.12 ± 3.42. The mean follow-up period was 8 ± 3.6 months. In the postoperative period wound infection was found in 3 patients and wound dissociation in 1 patient. The most common complaint was pain at the wound site (6 patients). The mean satisfaction level of the patients was 2.45 ± 0.55. The functional and cosmetic results of the Limberg flap procedure are open to debate. More extensive prospective studies on this issue seem necessary.

Çocuklarda Pilonidal Sinüs Cerrahisinde Limberg Flep Yönteminin Fonksiyonel Ve Kozmetik Sonuçları

Pilonidal sinüs, gluteal bölgenin kronik bir hastalığıdır. Bu çalışmada klinigimizde Limberg Flep yöntemi ile opere edilen olguların fonksiyonel ve kozmetik sonuçları retrospektif olarak incelendi.

Haziran 2013 ile Haziran 2017 tarihleri arasında Pilonidal sinüs tanısı ile opere edilen 36 hasta alışmaya dahil edildi. Hastaların yaş, cinsiyet, operasyon bulguları, postoperatif komplikasyonlar, gluteal bölgede insizyon hattı şikayetleri, nüks durumları ve ameliyat memnuniyetleri kayıt edildi.

Hastaların 24’ü erkek 12’si kadın idi. Ortalama yaş 14.12 ± 3.42 idi. Hastalarda ortalama takip süresi 8 ± 3.6 ay olarak bulundu. Postoperatif dönemde 3 hastada yara yeri enfeksiyonu, 1 hastada ise yara ayrışması tespit edildi. En sık görülen şikayet yara yerinde ağrı idi (6 hasta). Hastaların ortalama memnuniyet değeri 2.45 ± 0.55 olarak bulundu.

Limberg flep yönteminin fonksiyonel ve kozmetik sonuçları tartışmaya açıktır. Bu konuyla ilgili daha geniş prospektif çalışmalar gerekli görünmektedir.
